If you use drugs, you are responsible for a lot of violence

       Hi. Let's talk about how the world consumes tons and tons of drugs and although that's illegal in most countries people are free to live as they want.        Your body, your rules. My body, my rules. Great. No one should interfere if people put drugs into their systems because that's a private choice. Of course there is a boundary and you can't affect other people's lives with your changed behaviour. If drugs harm you and you want to use them, that's your responsibility.        See, that's where I think people are not held accountable for their actions at all. I don't use drugs. Why do I have to live with so much violence generated by this huge market? Brazil consumes a lot of drugs, the USA consumes a lot and I just think it's really hipocritical to keep it illegal since so many people buy it!!!        The thing is: drug traffic creates a LOT of violence, everybody knows it, right? And is it fare for police officers to keep going after these drug dealers, risking their lives and never ever solving anything? It's a lost war.        I remember opening the newspaper in São Paulo and reading full pages of violence in Rio de Janeiro. Moms lost their teenagers and even kids to lost bullets in the shootings between the police and the traffic dealers. That's their everyday life. Last year many citizens left Rio due to violence, and that not only in the favelas. Again, I remember opening the big newspapers in São Paulo and seeing huge maps of the violent factions that control the drug market. It's insane. And they are organized (organized crime), have tactics to expand their markets and even fight with other factions for market share.        Then there's the dilemma with Mexicans desperately running away from their homes and trying to get at any cost in the USA.        With all my heart and with all my brain, I truly believe that LEGALIZING drugs would be so much better. No, legalizing doesn't mean INCENTIVATING people who don't use to use drugs. No, that's a very different thing. I don't smoke, not even cigarettes but I think it's very appropriate that now they come with information and real terrible images on the packaging. And that's what would happen with drugs: they would come with information, side effects, the amount of toxic substances written all over it.        Do you think people know what they are putting in their bodies when somebody offers them a brand new synthetic drug at a night club? Of course not.        But it's 2019, and people should be held accountable for their actions. We are all seeing the sustainable fashion choices and how companies like Nestlé are getting targeted for plastic use. We don't buy from companies that harm our country so how is it okay for drug users to buy products that destroy our societies, children, countries?        If you wanna use drugs, it's your body, your problem. But don't harm my city. Don't kill innocent lives. If those drug dealers pay taxes and become entrepreneurs like the cigarette and alcohol industries, it will be better for everyone. Users and non users. Cut the violence! And there will be more taxes to invest in education and health care.        Be responsible for your own choices. Well the only ones who may be upset about it are the ones in the gun industries, cause drug wars make them a lot of money.
